Nursing CV for Saudi Arabia: SCFHS and What Recruiters Check
Healthcare is one of the largest employers of expats in Saudi Arabia, and nursing CVs are screened differently from other sectors. Before your experience, a recruiter checks one thing: are you licensed to practise here?
Lead with your SCFHS status
The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) classifies and registers healthcare practitioners. Whether you are already classified, eligible, or mid-process, state it near the top — it is the gate every clinical CV must pass. Include your professional classification (e.g. Staff Nurse / Specialist) if you have it.
The credentials block recruiters scan for
- SCFHS classification / registration status
- Nursing licence from your home country + years valid
- BLS / ACLS / PALS certifications and expiry dates
- Specialty (ICU, ER, OR, dialysis, paediatrics, etc.)
- Work eligibility — transferable Iqama or nationality
Quantify clinical experience
Generic duties ("provided patient care") say little. Show scale and setting: "ICU staff nurse, 12-bed unit, 450+ bed tertiary hospital" or "managed 6–8 patients per shift in a busy ER". Bed count, unit type, and hospital size are the signals recruiters weigh.
Keep it ATS-clean
Healthcare recruiters use ATS too. A single-column layout, standard headings, and a plain-text credentials list ensure your licences are actually parsed and not lost inside a designed template.
