How to Write a CV for the Saudi Job Market (2026)
The Saudi job market rewards CVs that prove substance and fit fast. Recruiters skim for a handful of signals before they read a single bullet. Here is what matters in 2026 — and what no longer does.
Lead with results, not duties
The single biggest differentiator is quantified achievement. "Responsible for the sales team" says nothing; "Grew regional sales 24% and cut churn 15%" wins the read. Every role should show what changed because you were there.
Make work eligibility obvious
For expats, a transferable Iqama is the first thing a recruiter checks — its absence is the most common reason expat CVs get filtered. State it plainly. If you are a Saudi national, say so: it answers the sponsorship question instantly and aligns with Saudization goals.
Surface your certifications
- SCFHS for healthcare
- SOCPA for accounting/finance
- SEC for engineering
- PMP, NEBOSH and other internationally recognised credentials
Saudi ATS and hiring managers weight sector licences heavily. If you hold one, it belongs near the top.
Show Arabic + English, and local relevance
Most Saudi workplaces operate bilingually, so state your Arabic and English levels. Where it is genuinely true, connect your experience to Vision 2030 priorities, Local Content, or GCC markets — it signals you understand the local context.
What to stop worrying about
Date of birth, marital status and driving licence used to be "expected" fields. Modern recruiters scan for capability, not personal data. Including them is harmless but adds nothing — spend that space on impact instead.
