Transferable Iqama & Work Eligibility on Your Gulf CV

Before a Gulf recruiter reads your achievements, they answer one question: can I hire this person without a sponsorship headache? If your CV does not answer it, you risk being filtered before the real review begins.

Why it comes first

Sponsorship transfer cost and timing decide whether an expat is even shortlisted. A missing or unclear work-eligibility line is the most common reason qualified expat CVs are skipped.

Saudi nationals

If you are a Saudi national, state it clearly. It means no sponsorship is required and aligns with Saudization (Nitaqat) targets — a genuine hiring advantage. Stating your nationality is not "padding"; it removes the recruiter's biggest unknown.

Expats

  • State whether your Iqama is transferable
  • Note if a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) is required
  • Add the expiry timeframe if relevant
  • Use a plain line: "Visa status: Transferable Iqama"

Where to put it

Keep it in your contact/header block, next to your phone and city — not buried at the bottom. A recruiter should see it in the first three seconds.

HireRank's Saudi Market Fit advisory flags a missing work-eligibility line automatically, and is nationality-aware — Saudis are never penalised for not needing a visa.
